GP earnings

GP practices are required by NHS England to publish information about the average pay (also known as 'mean earnings') for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at their practice. 

The average pay for GPs working at the Whitwell Surgery in the last financial year was £52,560.93 before tax and National Insurance.  This is for 1 full time GP, 2 part time GPs, and 1 locum GP who worked in the practice for more than six months. 

We follow NHS England guidance when calculating the figures that we have published here. However, these declared average earnings do not take account of how much time each doctors spend working in the Surgery. These published figures are not a reliable basis for forming any judgement about GP earnings or to make comparisons with other GP practices.
